YHID MAY 2021 NEWSLETTER

BRING OUT THE FLOWERS:

PICNIC SEASON IS UPON US!

Grab a blanket, a baguette, and a bottle of rosé! As the parks and beaches beckon for a stunning picnic moment, Young Huh Interior Design cannot stop thinking about pairing some delicious bites with flirtatious florals (but if we are being honest, this duo lives in our mind year-round).

One of our main inspirations for this newsletter is the warm sun showering us with a little more Vitamin D as of late. We also could not peel ourselves away from this garden aesthetic as Young serves as a co-chair for Housing Works’ Design on a Dime fundraiser this May where she designs a window with theme Spring Café.

Join us as this newsletter is the digital equivalent to a promenade through Central Park with cherry blossoms in bloom and New Yorkers trading their blah-blah facades for smiles in the sun.

 STEP INTO THE GARDEN

I’ll Take a Cappuccino for Here and I’ll Take that Table To-Go!

After a year of cancelled events and missed annual traditions, New York’s interior design scene has become absolutely giddy with joy for this May’s Design on a Dime event presented by Housing Works. The beloved charity jamboree will be adapting to the state of the world as the hybrid in-store and online format of this year’s fundraiser welcomes all to join in the fun.

To make this homecoming of an interior design staple that much sweeter, Young joins cofounder James Huniford and co-chairs Patricia Arquette, Jamie Drake, and Joy Moyler in support of this meaningful event. Whether you are looking for some new pieces to spruce up your home or just desperately craving a chic event with a stunning cause, come one and come all to Design on a Dime this month.

PICINC SEASON ALSO MEANS PATIO SEASON

If swapping out the public park for a personal patio while the pandemic pans out, make sure your outdoor space is equipped with all the proper pieces for a perfect patio party. Young and some of her design colleagues share their biggest outdoor space no-no’s and then pair them with a simple solution to make sure none of us fall victim to a patio predicament.

P.S. If you need a fun little drinking game to kick-off your next outdoor soirée, take a sip every time our media associate included a “P” word in the heavily alliterated blurb above. After that, make everyone recite the first sentence as fast as they can without fumbling over their words.

WHAT ABOUT SOME TROPICAL GREENS FOR YOUR PALETTE?

It is no secret that a tropical getaway sounds like the perfect travel remedy after a cold winter, and let House Beautiful’s recent article on Young’s Turks & Caicos project provide some much needed peer pressure to book those tickets. Point Grace holds a special spot in the Young Huh Interior Design zeitgeist due to the success of this on-going project and the incredible relations we have developed with the resort.

Take a peek to see what magic lies just a flight away.
