The October 2020 Newsletter

Hello from a Self-Proclaimed Color Enthusiast,

If you’re anything like us—i.e. obsessed with finding the perfect manicure color or perpetually packing enough colors into one outfit to make a rainbow jealous—the color wheel is your dear friend! In a world where “black tie" events assume the role of indomitable sophistication and NYC street style fashion is overrun by B&W outfits that steer clear of any member of the ROYGBIV community, we want to share the narrative that bold, beautiful, and bodacious color has a place in every corner of this world when handled correctly.

A couple months back, I was invited to enter Benjamin Moore’s color vault, share in a conversation about my career, and partake in a virtual love letter to the color spectrum. Using the chromatic inspiration that this Benjamin Moore visit instilled with our office, we wanted to continue this exploration of color in our October 2020 newsletter.

As we trade out warm Summer sunsets for the beautiful color metamorphosis of Fall foliage, join us to celebrate and explore the wonderful world of color.

Benjamin Moore Design P.O.V.

“One of the most important things to have people understand is that color is not static; it’s sort of a living thing. It interacts with your eyes, it interacts with the light, with the environment around.”

Back before the world shut down and interviews could be held in person, Young visited Benjamin Moore’s Color Vault in Manhattan to discuss career, color, and creativity.

The Crème de la Crèmes of Kitchen Creams

In the world of interior design where color remains one of a designer’s strongest assets, the simple and effective nature of selecting the perfect cream-toned paint is monumental.

In this Domino Magazine feature, Young and her peers share some of their favorite iterations of the infamous off-white kitchen cabinet color. Whether you are doing a full kitchen remodel, or taking cues a la Carrie Bradshaw with a DIY paint job to keep busy during self-isolation, these designers will show you the true importance of taking your time and using your eye when selecting a paint color.
